CONNECT

Connect With One Another Authentically

At Calvary Nampa, the second of our four Core Commitments is: “Connect With One Another Authentically.” Community is part of the life of every Christian. When Jesus saves His people, He saves us into a new family, His family, the Church. We are meant to love, encourage, and support one another. Yet it can be hard to build those relationships at a weekend service through abbreviated, though genuine, conversation on a Sunday morning.

Key Expression - Community Groups

Community Groups - Community Groups help us connect authentically and are a starting point for day-to-day, natural friendships that springboard from here. These groups meet in homes throughout the week. They are mid-sized (15-30), and include people of all ages. We want it to be like a holiday gathering where everyone is welcome! We share a meal, have Bible-based discussions, pray for one another, and seek to do missional projects to reach out to the neighborhood together.

Children are welcome and encouraged to attend with their families. Groups share the responsibility of caring for younger children, while students in middle and high school participate with the group. Community Groups are open groups and visitors are welcome to come anytime. Seriously, you can just show up!

Check out our community groups in Church Center to see when and where they meet. If you have questions about Community Groups we would love to share more. Take your next step!

Thursday Prayer

Come participate any and every Thursday morning from 6am-7am.

The agenda? Just payer.

The reason? We are utterly dependent upon God for all things, so it naturally follows to turn to him in all things: thanks, adoration, needs, concerns, direction, wisdom and so much more. This is an open time of prayer where each one present can voice prayers, agree with the prayers of others, and simply commune with the Lord together.

“Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” 1 Thess. 5:16-18

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” Phil. 4:6

Covenant Membership

Read Welcome to the Family to learn more about the Calvary Family of Churches approach to ministry and mission.

At Calvary, we want to welcome, love, include and care for all people regardless of where they are with God or whether or not they are members. Some are new and just checking things out; many call Calvary “home” and are connected and involved but not yet members…and others have come to a place of readiness to deeply identify with and commit to the vision and mission of this body.

We believe membership in a church is biblical and should, therefore, be meaningful. At Calvary we practice Covenant Membership. Members form the core of this family as ones who are “all in,” ready to give not just receive, to serve not simply observe. Members participate as the Church: sacrificing time, talents, and treasure; committing to the care and community of their fellow members; and submitting to the authority God has established to lead our congregation. The church is a family, adopted by God. We care for each other, pray for each other, and serve together.

Taking the next step to become a member at Calvary will be a statement of your commitment to investing in the body through ministry and investing in the world through mission.

Membership Information Classes are held quarterly. Interested in joining us to learn more? Take your next step!
