Connect With One Another Authentically
When Jesus saves his people, he saves us into a new family, his family, the Church. Connecting in community is vital to the Christian life and a mark of a biblical church.
Community is part of the life of every Christian. When Jesus saves His people, He saves us into a new family, His family, the Church. We are meant to love, encourage, and support one another. Yet it can be hard to build those relationships at a weekend service. Yet, because there are so many people and we can be in a rush, it’s sometimes hard to build those relationships on a Sunday morning. Hence Community Groups.
Community Groups at Calvary meet at homes throughout the week. They are mid-sized (15-30), and include people of all ages. We want it to be like a party where everyone is welcome! We share a meal, have Bible-based discussions, and we do various missional projects to reach out to the neighborhood together.
Children are welcome and encouraged to attend with their families. Groups share the responsibility of caring for younger children, while students in middle and high school participate with the group. Community Groups are open groups and visitors are welcome to join anytime. Seriously, you can just show up!
